기본 정보
Picchio is an italian company specialized in the automotive sector. It was founded in 1989, when a few young motor-racing enthusiasts from Ascol tought to create a company to manufacture sports car designed from eng. Giotto Bizzarrini. The relationship with this absolute genius in automotive history is immediately on a wave of enthusiasm. Eng Bizzarrini designed a car and then made with his own hands the new prototype that became the first "traveling laboratory". The first Picchio was tested in Magione (PG) racetrack in the autumn 1991. The car had no problem. It was driven by Giotto Bizzarrini himself, this time acting as pilot and test driver. It was decided to start the industrial production programme. In 1996 Picchio headquarter was completed. In 1998 there was the first race of the first model completely designed and manufactured by Picchio for circuit racing. Among the first races we can mention ISRS championship at Misano and at Nurburgring, in 1999 SRWC championship at Donington (UK), and from 2000, Campionato Italiano Prototipi (CIP), on the most famous italian circuits, including 6 hours of Vallelunga. Cars manufactured for these races are open cockpit cars CN and SR2.In 2002 Picchio starts to partecipate also in competitions in USA, in Grand-American series which includes the famous and "historical" 24 Hours of Daytona race. The first year partecipated with a roadster, the SR2, and from 2003 with a new and revolutionary Daytona Prototype too; it was a prototype created specifically for this series. In 2004 was presented Picchio Cn2 Light, a prototype suitable both to track races and to hill climbing races, approved by FIA. In the same year Picchio Cn2 started to partecipate in Campionato Italiano Velocita Montagna (CIVM), the hill climbs national trophy which takes place throughout Italy, from Trentino to Sicily. In hill climb Picchio introduced a new car (P4 series) which collected many successes in the CIVM. In 2014 has partecipated for the first time in the glorious Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado (USA).In 2016 presented a FIA E2SH compliant racing car. As per the regulation, the technical formula is free from any constraint as long as the appearance can be traced back to a road car for free sale (Alfa Romeo 4C). Used so far in the Italian mountain championship (CIVM), it has proved successful and multi-victorious.Thanks to 20 years of experience in racing Picchio started to design and manufacture road cars own-branded and committed by third parties. Since 2005 Picchio is in sustainable mobility specialising in the study, design and manufacturing of innovative solutions and every kind of electric vehicles. For these reasons we designed a modular platform to be used for vehicles of different size and type.It designed and patented FAST &GO, a battery swap system able to replace the low battery with a charged one in less than 2 minutes.
